Malaysia

If you want to check out some of our trip photos, just double click on the link to the left.

And we are off....again

We were up at 5am on the 28th for the beginning of our journey. The 2 days between Christmas and our departure were eventful with Tysei having a high fever and Shunsuke a nasty cold. So we dragged our less-than-healthy selves onto an airplane for the 7 hour trip to Malaysia. We stayed on a resort island called Langkawi. Let me say, it was just what the doctor ordered! After 10 days of sand, sun, ice-creams, corona's, spa treatments and catching up with friends...we feel like a million dollars! The return to chilly Kyoto was difficult, and every morning as I step into the ice cold shower....I remember the outdoor rainforest shower attached to our villa.....where the air was warm and the water was refreshing....ahhh memories carry me through it!!
FYI we meet up with 4 other families that we worked with at our former school in Japan. We have all since moved on to other schools/countries. Everyone is just the same and it felt like we had been together all along. It was a fantastic reunion!

Christmas Evening

Well if you think it is easy to cook a turkey in Japan, you are wrong! We ordered a massive roaster and altered most of our recipes. The end product was well worth it!!

Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning

Christmas present opening began at a decent time and lasted until mid afternoon...keeping with Conlin tradition!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was pretty peaceful with a dinner out, a evening walk through the botanical gardens and the annual first gift opening. Shunsuke capped the night off with a glass of wine and wrapping of presents.....

The other Murao's

We celebrated an early Christmas on the 23rd with Shunya, Yoshino and Kiho.

x-mas party

Kiyoe our nanny and friend hosted a Christmas party and the Westin hotel in Kyoto. It was fun and festive....

YAY 3 weeks vacation!!

Our winter vacation started with a 3 day trip to Shizuoka to visit the grandparents/great grandma. The kids had fun, as always....and Shunsuke and I got our Christmas shopping done. I must admit, having babysitters and the shops wrapping all your gifts puts the Fa-la-la-lala back into Christmas!!
